The roles

Job Titles: 4X Sales Directors

Locations: UK, Germany, Netherlands, France

The brief

MongoDB have been growing at a phenomenal pace and as a result, needed market-leading salespeople across a number of territories as part of the ongoing rapid EMEA expansion.

We were tasked to source 4 positions for them, all sales directors, in the UK, Germany, France, and the Netherlands. We were looking for sales superstars with a proven track record of selling big data/analytics solutions to Global 2000 organisations, individual contributors who had regional and technological expertise withing their field but also had a hunger and passion for business expansion and new customer acquisition.

MongoDB had existing teams in all of the above territories and had scoped the regional markets for the top candidates already. Our task was to identify, uncover, and tap into a tier of candidate which they had not previously been in contact with.

The results

Recruiting talent into a market where competition is extremely fierce and competitive was a challenge that required creativity and market expertise.

We tackled the challenges in a methodical approach that involved a substantial amount of market mapping, candidate networking, and ensuring the talent pool was built through methodologies beyond our traditional networks.

Industry based candidates in addition to candidates from the fast-paced technology sectors were included in an upfront mapping exercise. We were able to quickly generate a market overview including strong shortlist of candidates for each region, which were sourced through our global network.

Once shortlists were compiled, we proactively proceeded to positioning the role, company, and technology to the candidates. By maintaining regular contact and managing the process end to end, we were able to develop strong working relationships with both the client and candidates, building an understanding of key motivators, drivers, and concerns. It is this attention to detail and personable interaction which is key to a successful recruitment process.

After a number of interviews across the different territories, we were able to narrow the searches down to final candidates.

At which point we helped the candidate and client manage the offer, resignation, transition and induction process and continued to offer support to the candidates as the territory strategies are being formulated and delivered.
